The focus of this category is to fund projects that will improve the quality of life in Mitchell.

 

Prize: The Funded Project(s) will receive up to $5,000 – total prize pool of $7,500

 

What fits: Perhaps you want to start a new recycling program for Mitchell? Grow a community arts program? Create a new community garden? Any of these and many more would help improve our quality of life – if it makes Mitchell prettier, safer or more enriched, this is the place for those projects.

 

Selection Criteria: 1) We want to fund the best ideas. 2) The bigger the impact the better. 3) Scope of the project (if you need $1,000,000 to get your project off the ground, $2,500 is a long ways from making it a reality). 4) Timelines associated with the project.

 

Selection process:

- Complete the application process to outline your idea.

- Finalists will be interviewed by the selection committee.

- Selection committee will select winners and award amounts.

- Dates:

• Submissions will be accepted until September 3rd
• Finalists will be chosen and the interview process will start on Sept 10th
• Winners will be announced by the end of September 2013
